Meeting the Families

Prologue

"We have to tell them, ya know," Dayna said, comfortably leaning agenst Radditz's chest as they sat atop a desert mountain. The mountain had been formed by decades of wind blowing through it, carving it out and making it mother nature's art. The unlikly couple were watching the sun go down.

"Tell who what?" Radditz asked.

Dayna looked at him incrediously, "Tell our families........."

"Oh, that. Why?"

"Why?!" Dayna repeated, "Because they're our FAMILIES! For goodness sake, Radditz, they have a right to know!"

"Alright, alright," the Saiyan said, ruffling her hair, "Don't blow a gasket, Red."

"Don't call me Red, Ditz," Dayna retorted and turned her eyes back to the sky, "So how do we do it?"

"What's to do? We just tell them."

"You can't just up and tell your family something like this! It has to be well planned out."

"Well.......what do you suggest?"

Dayna sighed, "I don't know. Maybe we should have a picnic....or a barbaque. That way we could get our families together and only have to tell them once."

"NO picnics. Barbaque it is."

"Yeah.........I hope they'll approve."

"Don't worry, we have nothing to worry about," Radditz squeezed her shoulder reassuringly.

"Yeah, but I must warn you," Dayna said, pausing to admire the purple and red haze on the horizon, "My family is alittle.......odd."

Radditz laughed, "Haha! I doubt your family is nearly as odd as mine."

Dayna laughed too, allowing Radditz to enjoy her lilting, musical voice.

They didn't talk anymore of it that night, though mentally they were already making plans.
