To See the Old Neighborhood

Part 4

There was no puff of smoke, or magic words. There was no bright light, or feeling of vertigo. They were simply on Earth one moment, and on Planet Vegita, Vegita-sei, the next. It happened so fast, it took the small band of Saiyans a moment to recognize what had happened.

"Woah!" Goku said, looking around with the curiosity someone of his age just shouldn't have. Was this really his birth place? His home? The part of him he never knew? It felt so......

"This is-" Radditz spoke.

"Planet Vegita!" all the people presant that could talk said in unison (save for Trunks and Goten, who still hadn't a clue what was going on.)

Pan was climbing all over Gohan's shoulders to see the new environment she had suddenly been put in, as Bra clung to Vegita's front and looked around quietly. This place definatly had a different feel to it.

"What's with them?" Turles asked, jerking a thumb toward Trunks and Goten, who looked slightly rigid and were looking around with intense eyes.

"This planet feels different than Earth," Gohan said quietly, letting his eyes search the off-color tint of the sky, "There's so much chi here.........."

"But the chi's here are so WEAK!" Nappa said, knowing full well his limited power compared to Vegita and Kakarot and their children.

"That doesn't matter," Gohan said, though he didn't seem to really be interested in adding to the conversation, "Earth's general population has a very low chi. This planet........this planer swells with it. It's everywhere. Hoo. I've felt power before, increidible power. But not coming from this many sorces before. It's kinda overwheliming."

"Boy, he said it," Trunks said, peeking around the corner of a building, "But.......hey! Where's that Noone guy!?"

After a quick search, they all came to realize Noone was no longer in their midst.

"The little rat just left us here!" Radditz said argrily, clenching a fist.

"I did not!" they all jumped at the sound of a very offended, quit bodyless voice.

"Noone?" Goku asked.

There occured the usual blinding flash of light that signals Noone's arrival as he passes through 'tears' in realities.

Gohan jumped, surprised as his sight dissappered, Pan clung tightly to him and began to whimper. Vegita swore, Turles swore, Radditz swore, Nappa swore, Trunks swore, Goten tried to swear, but Gohan covered his mouth. Goku sighed in anoyance and Bra blinked her eyes in surprise.

Needless to say, no one was enjoying being blind.

"Couldn't you please, PLEASE WARN US WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO DO THAT!?" Goku said as he furiously rubbed his eyes.

"Warn you when I'm about to do what?" Noone asked, cocking his head to one side.

"That....that flashy light thingie that makes us not see!" Nappa said, sounding rather peeved.

"Oh! But I have to!" Noone said, looking alarmed.

"HAVE TO BLIND US!!?!" Vegita yelled, squinting in a dangerous, sightless way.

"No, silly!" Noone didn't realize how close he was to pushing it by calling Vegita 'silly', "I have to use my reality tears for transportation!"

"WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH WARNING US!?" Radditz hollered as Noone, though he was yelling in the wrong direction.

"Warning you about what again?" Noone asked, bending at the waist to lean into the direction Radditz was yelling at and waving to try to get his attention.

"YOU MEAN YOU-" Turles started to shreik.

"OH NEVERMIND!" Gohan said, rubbing his throbbing temples, "We're here, so now what?!"

The Saiyans started. They had gotten so caught up in the frustration of Noone's forgetfulness that they had forgotten where they were.

They waited a few moments of silence as their sight returned before looking around. The terain was sandy, and didn't look like it could produce much vegetation. Off in the distance, there could be seen a settlement that looked pretty modern, though there wasn't much of signifigance to look at. Simple, practical buildings made with sharp edges and no frills made the place seem extremely unwelcoming.

"Guess we shoud introduce ourselves to the neighborhood.........," Gohan mumbled, looking down at his daughter, who was struggling to get down and toddle off into the type of trouble only little fourth Saiyans could know.

Gohan swung her up onto his shoulders where she grabbed a handfull of his black hair and yanked in excitment. He winced but was just glad she was content to stay up there.

Noone paused and dug around under his cloak, "I can't be seen with you guys."

"Huh?" Goku said, turning to look at Noone. He had been staring off at the small settlement in awe. His keen Saiyan vision had allowed him to pick out a few glimpses of the Saiyans as the went about their tasks. It was so strange seeing and feeling other Saiyans, but it all seemed disturbingly familiar.

"I'm the one who brought them back," Noone said, and finally found what he was looking for under his cape, "If they see me, they'll know. If they know they were brought back, they would know they were killed! And that would upset the whole balance of the planet and I would be stuck cleaning it up!"

"Wow, he shows intelligance!" Trunks said in awe. Goten snickered.

Noone gave the two boys a confused look for a moment, they looked back the adults, holding up what looked like a dark blue minitue walkie-talkie, "So, I have devised an invention that will allow you to contact me in my reality! That way, when you all decide you want to go back (keep in mind you all have to agree) you can just call me!"

He handed the small invention to Gohan, who looked over it with a mathemation's eye.

"It's very well made," Gohan said, turning it over and inspecting the micro-screws that held the small thing together. It was indeed 'well made' but simple also. On one end, attached to an extendable antena was a microphone. The rest of the box had a small grating that showed it must be the speaker. On one side of the speaker was a small red button.

"When you want me, just push that little button and I'll be able to hear your voice!" Noone explained, "And you just talk into the microphone!"

"Duh!" Trunks said, grabbing the speaker from Gohan to look at, trying to remember everything he had learned from his mother about technology. It did indeed look like it would work.

"Can we go now?" Goten asked, floating into the air in anticipation, "I'm hugry...........you think they'll have food?"

Radditz laughed, "If they're Saiyans, they'll have food!"

"Woo!!!" Goten cheered, raising a fist.

"Well, I have to be going now, remember to call! Anytime you like!" Noone said. Everyone covered their eyes before-hand to avoid being blinded for the millionth time.

Once Noone was gone, they all stood facing the village for a moment of quiet thought. This was it.

They flew off to meet the Saiyans, Goku in the lead.
