To See the Old Neighborhood.....

Part 14

His head hurt. That was the first thing Turles noticed when he regained consciousness. His head hurt and his body hurt. He noticed with some annoyance that he was having a hard time seeing out of one eye, as a stream of what he could only guess to be his own blood went over his sight.

It was cold. Yes, he noticed that, too. He hurt and he was cold. Things pretty much sucked. He was miserable.

Where was he, anyway?

When he tried to look around, his head hurt even more. A deep, throbbing pain that suggested pretty nasty injuries. He tried to reach a hand to his head to search for cuts or bumps, but found that he couldn't move them. He shifted his eyes, one of the only parts of his body that he COULD move with only minor pain.

Oh, here was ANOTHER bother! In his half conscious, pain-staked brain he registered his arms were attached to the wall behind him, the one he realized he was leaning agenst, with solid shackles that didn't budge when he tried to pull his arm away. His hands, held at his head's level, were alseep and prickling as the blood had a hard time pumping upward to them.

He was standing. There was another conscious state! Standing......yes, with his feet bound just as firmly as his arms to the wall. This was not good, his hazy mind stated. Not good at all.

But.....where was he? He tried to remember what had happened. Hmmm....oh yes! Now he remembered, but it didn't help his bad mood.......

He and Nappa had been hiding behind a pile of craits. They were, or HE was, there to see what other mistakes Noone had made, who else had been brought back. They heard foot steps approaching. The sounds stopped right infront of them, just inches from their noses. Turles, with his keen Saiyan senses, could all but FEEL them there (and he hated knowing that if Kakarot were there, he would be able to do THAT too.)

Then, the boots shifted. The sound was distinct. Time froze as Nappa and Turles waited in the fear that they loathed for what seemed like eternity, then................ ...............then Nappa shifted a little and knocked the whole pile of craits over. They had slim to none time to react as just about all the people in the docking bay attacked them at once. The ones remaining called for more security.

Things quickly shifted from bad to worse. Though Turles was easily holding his ground agenst the likes of deck hands and mechanics, but this WAS Freiza's ship to start out with.........and he knew it was only a matter of time till the little fellow made his apperance.

And after a matter of time, he did. Oh, did he ever show up, mad as hell itself that anyone would DARE to cause sucha a rucus in HIS ship!

"Who's responsible for this!?" Turles remembered Freiza say, his voice oddly high and low at the same time, contradicting in every way. Mad, but calm. Masculine but femanine. Freiza was just like that, he guessed.

But he hadn't really been thinking about that at the time. All fingers immidiatly were pointed at him.

"Nappa, go get help. I can't do this on my own.........," Turles had hated to admit it. He HATED needing people, but that's just what it was. He needed help. He NEEDED Kakarot. He NEEDED Vegita. He needed ANY help that came from ANYWHERE. But he needed it fast.

It didn't come fast enough.

Nappa made a break for a ship that was still intact, running for his life. Freiza moved to stop him, but Turles attacked him before he had the chance. One of them should make it at least! But.....WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE NAPPA??! Turles, as he hung from his shackles on the wall, pondered why he had encouraged Nappa to be the one to escape. Yet, try as he might, no answers came. Perhaps it was just his cluttered brain........

But, as his memory returned, he could only remember seeing flying fists and a huge tail pummeling him to near death and the fleeing back of Nappa as he ran. He faught valiantly, and he was pretty sure that was the reason he wasn't dead yet. Freiza and everyone else was just too darn curious as to how he got as strong as he did.

At least that was his guess. He truely didn't know WHY he was alive, or if he really WAS even alive anymore. And all the while his head kept aching and his fingers kept throbbing and he could only try to blink rapidly to attempt to rid his eye of the rapidly drying blood that had dribbled over it and started to ich. Oh, all he wanted in the world was to scratch it! JUST ONE LITTLE SCRATCH!! It was driving him mad!

And what was worse was that, though he had remembered up to that point, he couldn't for the life of him remember when he had been knocked unconscious, much less shackled to the wall!

He didn't even know if his head-ach was from injury or over-loading stress............probably both.

"So.......I was right?! You ARE Kakarot!?"

"No.....uh.....yes. Sorta........not the one you know........," Goku stumbled through words that made perfect sense to him, but baffled the minds of everyone else.

"What..........WHAT!?" the young Radditz asked, pausing between the first and second 'what' to tap himself on the forhead to avoid thought damage.

"Uh.......," Goku turned pleading eyes to Rahndash, who shrugged. He didn't quite get what his brother was saying either.

"Uh.......," came Rahnadash's intelligent final reply.

"What do you mean BY WHAT YOU JUST SAID!?" Radditz asked, not sure if he was asking Rahndash or Kakarot.

"We're uh....sorta.....," Rahndash tried to explain things, but couldn't. After first stating their idendities, both brother's minds had shut off when it came to legibility.

"From the future!" Goku finally hacked out, paused to look at the sky in thought, nodded to agree with himself, and said, "Yeah. Future."

Bardock gave a questioning look to Goku.

"Future." Goku said.

Bardock gave Rahndash a questioning look.

"Future." Rahndash said, crossing his arms.

"................................." was the all around sound made for a moment.

"So you're Kakarot........"

"From the future."

"And you're Radditz........"

"From the future."

Radditz the junior circled Radditz the senior in a careful display of inspection. Bardock stood inches from Goku's nose, looking in his face. Inspecting every pore he had and all around making him feel rather uncomfortable.

"Uh......." Goku backed up from his father and found himself pressed agenst the older Radditz, who had also backed up to avoid the scrutiny of the smaller Radditz.

"If you're telling the truth..........," Radditz said, blinking dismisivly as he ceased looking so hard, "Than father really IS wrong. The Saiyans DO survive."

Goku and Radditz exchanged looks.

"No, my visions are true, I know it!" Bardock said sternly, "Tell him, mirai no Kakarot! Tell him the fate of the Saiyans!"

"Ah......humm.....," Goku looked at the ground and couldn't find anything to say.

"See? He just doesn't want to argue with you," Radditz said to his father, "So he's keeping his silence."

"TELL ME!" Bardock ignored his son and shook Goku by the shoulders till he felt his teeth rattle.

"Please!" Goku shouted, stepping back away from the harsh grip and rubbing his upper arms, "I'm not supposed to tell you ANYTHING about the future........it's.....uh.......rules."

Rahndash quirked a brow at him till he felt a nudge in his ribs to play along.

"Uh......YEAH! Policy. Can't do it."

"Nope. Can't."

"Impossible."

"Outta the question."

"You don't really know, do you." Radditz was on the verge of laughing.

"Of coarse we do!" Rahndash gave his other self a dirty look.

"Well.......," Radditz thought for a second, "Then proove it."

"Oh c'MON!" Goku said, getting frustrated, then he jerked back as though stung. His eyes were blank for a second as he seemed to be listening to something no one else could hear.

"What is it, Kakarot?" the older Radditz asked, noticing as well as feeling the sudden change in his brother.

"Vegita. He says we have some trouble," Goku said, looking off in the direction of the palace, "He wants us there right away."

"How would you know? You're not wearing a scouter or nothin'," the younger Radditz said, his voice accusing, "So how COULD he contact you? And why do you call him 'Vegita'? He's the KING!"

"Oh, puh-leeese! Saiyans don't use scouters in the future!" Radditz quickly covered for Kakarot.

"Yeah. We talk mentally. Like thought speak....." Goku said, then jerked his head towards the palace again and said with a tad of urgency in his voice, "But we REALLY need to go. Vegita's yellin' up a storm, Gohan's done something to get him mad, something's happened to Turles........."

"Trouble?" Bardock asked, ignoring Radditz's body hints to be quiet, "Anything I could help with?"

"You want to come along?" Goku asked, looking at older Radditz to see if he thought it would be okay. He got no sign it wouldn't.

"If it's okay.........," Bardock said, wondering himself why he was going.

"Okay, then. Here, Radditz, take my arm. You take my other one.....uh......dad," Goku held an arm out to each of them. They did as they were told.

"Okay, here we go!" he said and concentrated on Vegita's chi. A second later, they had teleported away and the little Radditz found they weren't infront of him anymore. They had just vanished.

To be continued..........
