Rough Fight on a Picnic Afternoon

Part 4

"WHAT THE FLAMING HELL WAS THAT???!!!" Vegita yelled.

"A new tecnique, Vegita.....," Gohan said, his voice strained.

"How....," Vegita was trying to imagine what Gohan had done to return his blast. The kid hadn't caught it and thrown it back, like Vegita had thought at first. The chi blast had DISAPPERED. Gone with out a trace for a minute, then reapeared out of nowhere, and heading right towards him.

But where did it come from......?

"Dad.....thought it up," Gohan said, breathing still heavy from controling the wild flux of chi he had absorbed.

"Kakarot!" Vegita turned his angry, confused glare at Goku, "Why wasn't *I* informed about this?"

"About what?" Goku asked cocking his head to one side, then added seriously, "That I had thought up something new? Vegita, I'm always thinking up new things. So I started sparing and trying them out with Gohan, so what? It's not like your the only person I'm allowed to do things like that with. I don't have to report anything to you, and you know it."

Vegita grinded his teeth and looked back at Gohan, who's strength had nearly fully returned. He stood, arms spread, ready to try to block the next attack, though he knew that he would yet to regain enough power to block too many of Vegita's attacks at once. But he cold hope.....

Now, the other battle had been paused as well. Goten and Trunks had been forced to stop fighting when they were momentarily blinded by the flash when Gohan had absorbed Vegita's chi blast. They both turned, only now aware that the other two were even fighting. They watched as Vegita and Gohan resumed their battle.

"Heh, my dad'll kick you brother's butt," Trunks said, though deep down he knew he didn't want to see Gohan hurt. He was almost as much a big brother as he was to Goten.

"No way," Goten said, angry that Trunks thought so little of his brother, "Gohan is gonna tear Vegita apart."

"No way!!" Trunks yelled, "My dad always has and always will be stronger than your brother! He says so himself!"

"Yeah, jus' like he's 'stronger' than my dad, right?!" Goten parried with words, and soon the kids were fighting with fists.....again.

The two kids, still in their Super Saiyan forms, were tearing up the landscape. With each super sonic shockwave, there was another craitor, another fire, another ravine that wasn't there a moment ago. Another look of shock on the face of Radditz, Turles and/or Nappa, who could swear there was nothing there seconds earlier, right before the ground was reduced to ash.

Krillian sat down, arms resting on his knees, supporting his head, and he muttered, "Drat. Can't follow them with my eyes anymore."

"Join the club," Turles grumbled, face constricted as he sqinted his eyes, knowing full well it wouldn't help him to see the combatants. They were just too fast......

"YOU'RE DEAD, KID!!!" Vegita raged once more as he failed to block one of the rapid-fire punches Gohan was throwing, though he failed to realize Gohan had been hit far more times than he.

Vegita went Super Saiyan.

Gohan went Super Saiyan.

They faught again. Golden aura versus golden aura as the two pushed themselves harder and harder, punching kicking, bloking (the thought of BITING even crossed their minds, but was dismissed.)

Goku was the onle one who could see eveything that was happening. He was proud that his children were so strong, though he wished they weren't fighting for something so drastic. Each of the fighers now had their pride on the line. This was so serious........Goku rubbed his nose in thought.....so serious........

"FINAL FLASH!!" Vegita's rage added to his power as he launched a HUGE blast at Gohan.

"Guh!!" Gohan used nealy every fiber in his body to stop the blast from hitting him fully. He was pushed back, still pushing agenst the huge, scalding energy. Have no choice......he thought, and concentrated again.

Again the blast vanished, and Gohan's body convulged for an instant before he managed to gain control. The power.....it was so much! His body ached to release it, craved to blast all of his power out immidatly. He clung to it, though. If he released it too fast, like he did last time, he would throw too much of his own energy as well. That, he couldn't afford. Not with things as hot as they were.

He thought of the other way to release the power. Goku was able to release it all in a frenzy of kicks and punches, so fast that he ran out of breath. It's difficult for a Super Saiyan to run out of breath, but Gohan knew he had to do something.

He felt he was about to explode. Every fiber in his poor body was being streached torn, making him feel like he was being ripped in half. He summoned all his energy and hurted back toward Vegita, who was eargerly waiting to continue.

Vegita wasn't expecting Gohan to be this strong. He was accually pleased that he had a good fight on his hands, though even HE wished this fight could be a bit more for fun. He loved fighting, and was confident he would win, but.......what if he didn't? No. He would win. HE WOULD!

As Vegita grew more and more excited with the fight, the rapid fire exchange quickened. Gohan would punch, Vegita would block. Vegita would kick, Gohan would jump. Chi blasts were exchanged whenever the distance between them was too far for punches, though Gohan didn't DARE to attempt to absorb them. Punch, dodge. Knee, block. Chi blast, evade. It was a truely extrodinary fight.

"Who will win?" Turles asked glumly. There was no reply, though Radditz and Nappa looked to Goku to see what he would guess. He said nothing.

"Kakarot?" Radditz asked, wanting an answer.

Goku was silent. In desperation, Nappa nudged Krillian and asked, "What do you think?"

The short little fellow looked up at the three Saiyans (Goku not counted.)

"It depends," Krillian said, every once and a while turning his head as he caught a breif glimps of Goten or Vegita, before they vanished back to their fight.

"Depends on.....?" Turles pressed.

"Well........I haven't a clue about Goten or Trunks," Krillian said, looking at the place he sensed the smaller warriors, still duking it out without reguard of the world around them, so caught up in their fight were they, "But with Gohan and Vegita......I suppose it all depands on who's madder."

Radditz looked up, trying with out success to see his nephew and his King. He could understand what Krillian ment by that, but Krillian felt it necessary to finish his thought, "If an angry Gohan were to fight an unangry Vegita, Gohan would win. However, if an angry Vegita were to fight an unangry Gohan, Vegita would win. I'm slightly worried, though. Vegita gets mad alot faster than Gohan. I can only hope Gohan is seriously angry enough to win this....."

"Then you want the Kakarot's kid to win? You've chosen sides?" Nappa asked.

"Yeah, I want to see Gohan win. He's been a close friend, and has ALWAYS faught on my side. I would give my life for him, and want to see him give Vegita a BIG serving of humble pie," Krillian grinned at this thought, and so did Turles and Radditz, though Nappa just scowled and turned back to the fight he couldn't see. He was rooting for Vegita.

Suddenly, they were all sent sprawling as a huge shockwave knocked them over, leaving only Goku on his feet, shielding his eyes.

"Here comes the finale....." was all Goku said, and Krillian, Turles, Nappa and Radditz looked up to see Gohan and Vegita, high above them.

They both had looked better. They each had many bruised limbs, and stains on their faces where they had caughed up blood. The blood that had trickled down Gohan's face had turned dark and crispy, matting his hair and making him have to blink evey couple of second, for he didn't dare let his guard down long enouph to ich it. Vegita's arm was noticably swollen, and was getting more and more sluggish as the fight dragged on, and Gohan had taken as much advantage of this handicap as he could.

But this part of their apperance was made mute by a radically different change.

They had both gone Super Saiyan two.

This was, as Goku had said, the last chapter of the fight.

To be continued.............
