Endangered Saiyans
Part 4
Goku noticed them first. He was about to gather chi to pull another round of lightning fast attacks with Vegita when he stopped. He had felt a strangly familiar group of chi's. He looked around him, then focused his eyes onto the small floating shapes of Goten, Trunks, and three shapes that filled him with surprise.
Vegita heard Goku say quietly to himself, "But, I thought they were dead," and turned to see what Kakarot was looking at. Vegita was also pushed into silence as he saw and felt Radditz and Nappa, his fellow ex-survivees from Vegitasie. Vegita was momentarily amused with the thought that they were now ex-ex-survivees. The third Saiyan Vegita couldn't recognize. Just some third class warrior, Vegita thought to himself, the resemblance between Turles and Goku was remarkable.
Goku and Vegita noticed Gohan flying toward Trunks, Goten, and the three other Saiyan, and they soon were also flying to see what the heck was going on.
Gohan reached the group first. He looked from one Saiyan to the next, remembering the horrible memories of helplessness and fear each had brought to him in his childhood, giving him his old aversion toward Saiyans. It had taken him a long time to accept the Saiyan part he inherited from his father as the true strength he held inside, and he had thought he was finally over his fear. He had no reason to think it still existed, and why not? He wasn't afraid of Vegita, and the Saiyan Prince had been a holy terror in Gohan's past. But seeing these three, all the emotions he had carefully allined in his head started to go nuts, like they were caught in a giant mental cyclone.
He felt his power, pure, strong, and growing from the sudden negative feelings. This power was always there to fall back on, and this knowledge brought reassurance as Gohan felt how much stronger he was compared to these old threats. Gohan met their eyes, ever confident. He was no longer the child and they were no longer anything to be feared.
Radditz had seen the changing expression on Gohan's face, but didn't know exactly what they ment. The last time he and Gohan had met, Gohan had been nothing more than a crying baby. A kid with great power which he had no power over. Seeing him like this, Radditz began to see that now, things were not the same. The kid had grown up, as Turles had said, and now was stronger than what Radditz could even imagine.
But Radditz didn't have an imagination big enough to fathom the power this young man had.
"Well, I see Kakarot's son is all grown up now," Turles said, his smile almost identicle to that smile he made when he and Gohan had first met.
"My name is Goku."
The three resurected Saiyan looked up, and floating right behind Gohan was, indeed, Goku. A few feet from him was Vegita, looking quite bored and unimpressed.
"Why, if it isn't Kakarot-"
"Goku."
"Kakarot. Have you come to welcome us back?" Turles ignored Goku correction.
"How did you come back, Turles, you were one dead dog last time I saw you," Goku was not very happy.
"THAT is not of your concern, Kakarot," Goku didn't bother correcting him, "You should be concerned more for your LIFE!"
Faster than Nappa or Radditz eyes could follow, Turles flew at Goku. Goku, however, had no trouble seeing his movments, and he phased out from Turles's charging front, and phased back in behind him. Turles struck only air, and he paused, looking around in an attempt to see where Kakarot had gone. Goku tapped him on the shoulder and said, sounding rather dissapointed, "You didn't train at all when you were in Hell, did you?"
Turles quickly spun and rammed his fist as hard as he could into Goku's unmoving face. Goku didn't even flinch, and there was no mark that Turles had even struck him at all. Turles looked from Goku's face to his fist, as though he might find the reason for the ineffectivness of his attack.
"Heh," Goku made a smile that was as borderline sinister as his face was capable of, and he gave Turles one little backhanded slap, sending him flying to the ground. Goku would normally have been slightly less violent, but he was still kind of buzzing from the battle rush from when he had been sparring with Vegita, and he wanted to have some "fun."
"If you guys are going to attack me," Goku said loud enough to be heard by Turles, who was painfully pulling himself out of a crater, "Then you should try it all at once."
Turles snarled, and barked to Radditz and Nappa, "Attack!!"
Suddenly, there was only a mass of bodies all hurtling themselves at Goku, who was perfectly calm looking. Nappa, Radditz, and Turles all tried to hit Goku, anywhere on his body, but every one of their punches were blocked. Kicks, punches, katas. All were useless agenst this all powerful foe. The three attacking Saiyan finally pulled back on their attacks. They were all out of breath, and sweating from exhastion.
But Kakarot was still in the same place he was in when they started their attack. He hadn't given an inch. They exchanged nervious glances, and all three jumped when they heard a rumbling sound.
Goten grabbed at his stomach, a little surprised himself at the noise it had emitted. He looked up appologetically and said, "I hungry!" As though in response, Radditz's stomach growled even louder. He looked around helplessly, his hunger kicking in sudden and devistating. Goku tilted his head back and closed his eyes, laughing a warm, hearty laugh. "We'll have to finish this sparring session later," he said, then said on a more serious note so there was no doubt that he wasn't kidding said, "My wife makes a lot of extra food after I get done with my sparring, and she's expecting company anyways, so there should be plenty to eat. If you three promise to behave, you can join us. It's your choice, of coarse."
