Endangered Saiyans
Part 3
Scouter.
Armor.
Tail.
All these traits were the first things that Goten and Trunks noticed about the three figures that stood before them. And these traits put a word automatically into their heads.
Saiyan.
"Who are you?" a Saiyan that looked remarkably like Goku said, stepping out of the row the three Saiyan had formed. He was obviously addressing Goten, ignoring Trunks altogether.
"I'm Goten," the little boy said, thumping himself on the chest to put emphasis on his statment.
"And I'm Trunks-" Trunks started to say, but he was rudely silenced by Turles.
"I wasn't talking to you, you pale haired Human," Turles then turned back to Goten, as though Trunks hadn't said anything in the first place, "You're Kakarot's son, aren't you?"
"Kaka-" Goten thought for a second, then remembered, "Oh, yeah! That's what Vegita calls dad! Yeah, I am. But you should call him Goku. He doesn't really like the name Kakarot."
"I will not call him that. Even a piece of third class scum-"
"You're third class, too-" Nappa began to say, but quickly shut up when Turles glared at him.
"Even a piece of third class scum is allowed a name, and that name is supposed to stay with them their whole life. Kakarot is the name he was born with, and it is the rightful name he should die with."
"Boy, you really do sound like Vegita," Goten said, looking very unmoved by Turles's words.
"Yeah," Trunks agreed, "In fact, I asked him why he didn't call him Goku one time, and Da-"
"I thought I told you to shut up!" Turles interupted again, this time his words were followed by a very large chi blast.
Everyone, except Goten, was shocked into silence when Trunks lazily batted aside the blazing attack. The ricachayed ball of energy flew aimlessly for an instant, then struck a mountain, totally obliterating it.
"Nice shot,"Goten said, slapping Trunks a high five.
"Heh, s'all in the wrist," Trunks grinned, then turned to look at Turles in a very cocky manner.
Turles tried to act unimpressed, but that was on of his more powerful attacks. The next time he spoke, he made it quite clear he was talking to both of them, "What's all this talk about Vegita?'
"Hm?" Goten said, " Oh, yeah, Vegita. He lives over that," Goten pointed to the left, "No, wait was it that..." Goten looked all around, trying to orient himself and figure out exactly which way he and Trunks had come. He hadn't paid much attention as they were traveling.
Trunks konked Goten on the head, then pointed one of the only directions than Goten hadn't pointed into, and said, "He and the rest of my family live over there."
Goten grinned and had one eye open. He rubbed the back of his head (where Trunks had hit him) and mumbled, "I knew that."
Radditz looked in the direction that Trunks was pointing, and pushed a few buttons on his scouter, but there was no indicated power reading for that area.
"There's nothing over there," he said, and looked at Trunks, on the verge of calling him a liar. He quickly remembered the strength the boy had shown, and changed his mind.
"Duh!" Goten said, acting very superior, "Vegita is over THAT way. He must be sparring with my-"
"WOA!! Would ya take a look at THOSE power levels!" Nappa exclaimed, hand frozen over his scouter.
Soon, all the other scouter wearing Saiyans were staring in shock at the two unfathomable chi's. Their scouters were giong awire, and had to be turned off before they exploded.
"What!! Is!! That!!?" Turles finally managed, looking accusingly at Trunks and Goten, as though they were playing a practical joke on him.
"THAT is our dads, they're sparring from the way it feels, though they aren't transformed right now," Trunks said, lifting his chin proudly, reveling in these grown men (grown SAIYAN men)'s surprise.
"'Our?'..Your not trying to tell me YOU are a Saiyan!!" Nappa said, seeming very enraged at the very idea of such a STRANGE looking little person as this to be the same as the proud race he was from.
"Heh, I'm not just A Saiyan, I am son of the PRINCE of Saiyans," Trunks said, now he was just trying to see how far he could shock these strange new-comers.
"VEGITA??" all three said in unison, and, also in unison, they could see some definate similar characteristics to the young Prince they had all seen before.
"Wait a minute," Radditz said, holding up his hands as though accually stopping something in mid air, "You said 'they aren't transformed right now' but I know that Kakarot CAN'T transform. He told me he had his tail PERMINANTLY removed when I met him. He COULDN'T transform without his TAIL!"
Both Turles and Nappa were horrified at even the thought of purposely having their tails removed, though they said nothing, becease they REALLY wanted to hear the expaination.
"Not THAT transformation!" Trunks said, looking exasperated at the thought of having to explain to them the whole Super Saiyan thing, "We can also trans-"
"Hang on a sec'," Goten whispered into Trunk's ear, then dragged him back afew feet to talk to him more privately, "Maybe we should hold off on telling them about Super Saiyans. Dad and Vegita would probably be able to explain it better than us."
"Hay, your right!" Trunks said, pleased he wouldn't have to waist his time telling them the history of the newly developed population of Super Saiyans.
"You'll have to ask our fathers about all of that," Trunks said, turning back to Turles.
"Very well," Turles said, "Then I HUMBLY ask Prince...Trunks was your name?...to escort us to the mighty Vegita, since our scouters would shatter if we tried to find him ourselves, and you obviously can sense other's chi."
"Kay, jus' follow us," Trunks said, turning around toward his father and Goku's chi. With a mischievious little grin he added, "But you hafta keep up!"
And they were off.
Vegita and Goku had been sparring for hours, now. Neither was showing any sign of strain, and, if they were allowed, they could literally fight all day. It had taken hour of near begging to convince their spouses to let them spar, but Chichi and Bulma had agreed to it only if they promised to fight in their normal forms.
Below them, Gohan was sleeping as peacfully as one can sleep when two awesome forces are waging war over their heads. They had originally all been sparing at once, but Gohan had seen the look in his father and Vegita's eyes and knew that they wanted to go one on one, so he said he was tired and set down in the shade of a nice tree and went to sleep.
"Is that the best you can do, Kakarot?" Vegita cried, dodging out of one of Goku's punches, and raising his elbow toward Goku's gut. Goku blocked however, and answered, "No, this is."
He brought his knee up into Vegita's stomach, causing the Prince to fly up a few feet. Vegita spit out a bit of blood, and sneered as Goku, "Not bad, but I WILL kill you some day in combat."
"You always say that," Goku grinned his special grin, "But you have yet to come close."
Enraged once again, Vegita flew at Goku with punches of lightning and thunder. Goku was finding it hard to block, and Vegita was quite pleased that some of his attacks were getting through.
This was becoming a fruitfull fight after all.
Gohan opened his eyes. He didn't know what it was, but something had awakened him. He reached his senes out, and quickly picked up the chi of his rambunchious brother and Trunks flying towards him. Behind them, however, Gohan could sence three weaker chi's, each of which seemed kind of familiar, like some haunting memory from the past.
Gohan looked up to see if his father and Vegita had also sensed the new power levels heading their way, but they were so engrossed in the good old fight they were having they wouldn't have noticed if the sky suddenly turned neon pink and Gohan sprouted five extra arms out of his head (a VERY funny thought.)
Gohan sighed and slowely rose into the air. Goten and Trunks were in sight now, but Gohan couldn't quite make out who the three other flying figures were.
Gohan started to get a bad feeling about all this, and he started to fly towards his little brother.
"There they are!" Goten cheered, pointing toward where he could see his and Trunks's fathers duking it out for the millionth time.
Nappa squinted at where Goten was pointed, but he saw nothing there. He looked at Radditz, and could tell by the look on the weaker warior's face that he, too, could see nothing. Nappa then looked to Turles. He could barely make out the shifty movements of Turles's black pupils as they followed something that was moving unimaginably fast.
Indeed, Turles himself could hardly make out the two people fighting. He only caught small glimpses of shapes than any thing else.
A flash of bright orange or red, a streak of black hair, all the movements made an almost abstract image of the battle that was going on ahead of him. Turles also noticed that the two children that had led them here (led them straight as an arrow, without a scouter, or any other device!) were having no trouble keeping up with the rapidly moving combatants.
Finally, when the two fighters broke away from eachother, Nappa, Raddits, and Turles got their first glips of the men Kakarot and Vegita had grown to be.
